Oven Baking Fish is the perfect way to cook just about any type of fish. It’s quick and easy but full of flavor.

The first time I made fish in the oven, I was so impressed that I’ve been experimenting ever since. I’ve experimented with every type of fish, some which I knew very little about, with different types of seasonings. I’ve found that lime is an excellent flavor enhancer for the fish.

We all know that fish is one of the healthiest foods you can eat but often, we find it difficult to cook it in a healthy way. But, that’s not the case anymore. With this recipe, you can make oven cooked fish that is tender and delicious.

You can only eat so many protein bars, smoothies, and sweets until you need a hearty, full dinner, and this Baked Fish in the Oven is just that! Matthew prepared this supper on the spur of the moment, and it was delicious, delicate, and satisfying. We felt this was a dish that deserved to be shared, despite how basic it is, since sometimes the simplest things in life are just better. Also, as we begin our new life in Atlanta, this dish kicks off our housewarming series!

Whiting’s Purpose

We used Whiting fish for this dish since it is more sustainable. In general, we’ve been attempting to improve our meat, fish, egg, and butter consumption! This should not, however, prevent you from utilizing whatever fish you like or have on hand. Cod, tilapia, orange roughy, and mahi mahi are all excellent choices. You may even use lemon instead of lime.

If I may be completely honest for a minute, it wasn’t until this year that I began cooking and fell in love with fish! For the first 27 years of my life, I had been losing out, not just in terms of flavor, but also in terms of how simple fish might be to cook. Because fish cooks quickly, pan searing and baking are both simple. As a result, you’re eating a lot faster! Broiling thinner filets of fish for 5-6 minutes in the oven is one of my favorite ways to prepare them.

Oven Baked Fish

This is the first in a series of housewarming recipes in which we show you what we eat on any given weeknight. Keto chili and crispy chicken thighs are two more of our favorite weeknight dinners to prepare! We’ve been eating a lot more fish recently since it’s easy to prepare and serves as a wonderful foundation for tastes and toppings. Despite the fact that it’s still early in the series, I think this Oven Baked Fish dish is my favorite because of its fresh feel and flavorful bites!

Note: We used fresh ginger and garlic in this recipe, but you may substitute powdered ginger and garlic if you don’t have any on hand. Fresh garlic would be replaced with 1/2 tsp garlic powder, and fresh ginger would be replaced with 3/4 tsp ginger powder.
