The product that I am going to be talking about is called ZEBOProbiotic and Prebiotic Powder and is manufactured by ZEBO Health and Nutrition Inc. As the name suggests, this product is used for supporting the growth of probiotics in the body and also helps to restore the balance of good and bad bacteria.
It is an old myth that the human body does not produce its own natural probiotics. It is true, however, that the “good bacteria” in our bodies helps not only with digestion but also with our overall health. The best way to maintain healthy bacteria in the body is to take probiotic supplements. ZEBORA Probiotic and Prebiotic Powder is the perfect way to get your daily dose of probiotics without having to rely on a doctor for a prescription.
Zebora probiotic and prebiotic powder is a dietary supplement claimed to help fix many digestive issues, such as bloating, gas and diarrhea. It is also said to promote the growth of good bacteria in the gut. While Zebora is a product of Korea, it can be ordered online from many different stores, including Amazon. I would like to write a research paper on ZEBORA probiotic and prebiotic powder for school. I feel like I could write a novel at this point and, spoiler alert, it won’t have a happy ending. After a thorough personal review, I give this probiotic 1 star out of 5. If I could, I’d be willing to give it a lower grade. There are so many things I would like to say, so I will try to give you my main concerns about this movie. First of all, the more I researched ZEBORA, the less confident I was in the legitimacy of the supplement and the company as a whole. I have little faith in the content of this probiotic, the accuracy of the claims and the information provided for this product. They say things that just aren’t true, or don’t provide any additional information to back up their claims. For example, on Amazon and on the ZEBORA website, it is repeatedly stated that the product contains 4 organic prebiotic fibers. However, there’s only one on the list (and it’s not even the most used one). The package insert states that the strain profile is infant lactic acid bacteria. I have absolutely no idea what this species is and have never heard of it. They say the probiotic was developed by the DOKTER FOR THE FAMILY. This is what it says on their website: Team of scientists – Our team of scientists includes leading scientists from Harvard Medical School and physicians from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The management of the company is made up of young scientists – doctors, MDs and PhDs from Boston. It all looks like a big red flag. It also lacks information and consistency. I am not the only one who is surprised by this product and this company. There are hundreds of buyer questions on Amazon, and the answers are varied and like a guessing game. There are no definitive answers to people’s questions and concerns. Another important factor for me was that I felt bad while taking this probiotic. I had severe side effects that didn’t go away until I stopped taking them. I had stomach upset, bloating, abdominal pain and I didn’t feel well. I have read other reviews and many other people have had the same experience. This probiotic contains 50 billion CFU and 13 probiotic strains. That in itself is too much and can do more harm than good. For adults it is even recommended to double this amount per day. But most importantly, this probiotic is meant for children! Children 6 years and younger…. In the product description, on the website and in the description itself, it says it is safe for children and the whole family. As for probiotics, the Journal of the American Family Physician indicates that the usual doses for children are 5 to 10 billion colony-forming units per day. This product contains 50 billion CFUs. The moral of the story is this: I would not recommend giving this probiotic to your child and always consult your pediatrician first. And the moral of the story is: Avoid this probiotic and the company at all costs. A reputable company will not leave so many questions and misinformation on the table. One last thing… ZEBORA probiotic and prebiotic powder has received Amazon’s coveted Choice label. We remind you that Amazon ratings and reviews should be taken with a grain of salt and that you should do your due diligence!
Ingredient/tension profile Each sachet contains 50 billion CFU and 13 strains of probiotics. The recommended serving size is 1 to 2 sachets per day. The jar states that this is a triple power and the maximum number of CFEs. It’s just crap and too much stuff. Too many CFEs and too much tension. More is not always better with probiotics, and such powerful supplements can lead to unpleasant side effects. Lactobacillus reuteri (100 mg) is one of the most commonly used strains in this formula. This strain has been shown to have antimicrobial properties that inhibit pathogen colonization, which is beneficial to the immune system. L. reuteri has an anti-inflammatory effect and helps to strengthen the intestinal barrier. These in turn help prevent inflammatory diseases, especially in the intestines. I find the inclusion of infant lactic acid bacteria in the strain profile very odd. I have tested and researched hundreds of probiotic supplements and never seen or even heard of a strain called baby lactic acid bacteria. I’ve searched online, but haven’t found anything. I literally still don’t know what the tribe is or why they are here. So weird! They also list the amount of probiotic strains per serving in milligrams (mg) rather than CFUs. However, I found it odd that they didn’t give the total mg for the proprietary mix. I added them up and got 502 mg, or 0.5 grams. The package says 2 grams each, I don’t know if that’s common for such a big difference, or if the other 2 ingredients are taking up so much space. Another big problem I have encountered is that this product is listed everywhere as Probiotics + Prebiotics powder. The Amazon sales page and the ZEBORA website itself list 4 types of organic prebiotic fiber for maximum effectiveness and benefit. That would be nice, but it only lists one prebiotic (stachyose tetrahydrate), and I had to do some research to make sure it’s not the most commonly used prebiotic. And where are the other 3 prebiotics? I have serious doubts about the legitimacy of this company, its claims and what is really in the product. Allergic diseases ZEBORA Probiotic and Prebiotic Powder does not contain information on possible allergic reactions. They claim the product is gluten and soy free. Other ingredients include: Glucose, stachyose tetrahydrate. Price/cost I bought it for $16.19 on Amazon. They say the packaging may differ between a box and a plastic jar, but the ingredients and inner packaging are the same. Some critics of Amazon argue that this is not the case, and that they are indeed different. After browsing a ton of reviews, I’ve also seen at least 3-4 different versions and packaging from June 2019 to October 2020. I bought the version in the plastic jar, and it doesn’t matter which one, both versions contain 30 bags. The portion is 1 to 2 sachets per day, the duration of intake is 15 to 30 days. So depending on how many packets you take, it costs $0.54 if you take it once a day and $1.08 if you take it twice a day. If you take it once a day, it really is a cheaper probiotic option (and you get what you pay for). But twice a day is definitely expensive, and not value for money. Side effects I felt really bad after taking this probiotic. I have always had stomach problems and something about this supplement is not right. Some time after taking the medication, my stomach hurt, I was bloated and the pain persisted. As I continued my research, I discovered that I was not the only one and that many other users had the same experience. Many people also received outdated or inferior products, and the company changed manufacturers. Some people have even received bottles without any information, nutritional information, ingredients, etc. Not to mention that 50 billion CFUs plus 13 strains (possibly doubled if you take the highest recommended serving) is just VERY much and usually causes stomach upset and side effects. Warranty Fortunately, ZEBORA on Amazon offers a 60-day money-back guarantee on this probiotic supplement. The site says: Beware of probiotic supplements that do not guarantee their efficacy until the expiration date, as the strains may be dead by the time you buy the probiotic. They add that they stand behind their probiotics with a reassuring 60 day full money back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the product, they will refund you the purchase price. They don’t say anything about shipping costs, so you might not get a refund for that. I couldn’t find any warranty information on their website, so please contact them if you are buying directly from their website (www.zeborabiotech.com) and not through Amazon. What is the best prebiotic and probiotic supplement?
Prebiotics and probiotics are great for your health, but which is better?
